Looking for an agony aunt job? Good idea... work out if you prefer to be self employed and have lots of individual clients all over the World. You call the shots, you decide how you do it and how much you charge and all the rest. Sign up to the directory on here, get listed so that people who come here seeking advice can find you, know your details and contact you.   OR  post on letters page and forums so that you can get noticed by websites, magazines and newspapers so that they can contact you and hire you.  You would not be self employed if you accepted a job with them. You would have to obey.  But it is very well paid so that is not much of a hardship.  And if you can work full time you can do both.

Great stuff. I've been using this site for a while and got a few agony aunt jobs already, am amazed at all this because most of my friends think I am there to be a listening ear and advise them at all hours day and night all for free, shows they have been taking advantage of me, I will be a lot more cautious from now on about who I count as a friend.  One thing I've thought and and learned over the past few months is that friendship should be two way, not just you giving and the other taking. There is a huge difference between someone respecting you and appreciating you or taking you for granted.  And a big difference between someone caring about you or enjoying your company or just wanting you as a convenience when it suits. One of my "friends" popped up and wanted to keep me glued to the phone for hours each day when her husband left her. Then it occurred to me that for FIVE YEARS I had not heard a thing from her and I bet I never would have if that had not happened.  When she rings now she gets the answer phone and I don't ring back!

I wish to become an agony aunt. I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. I enjoy writing and have a lot of knowledge that gives me the ability to advice people on their problems or life experiences. I have always had excellent communication skills and have enjoyed literacy/English. This would be something I would enjoy doing for myself and helping others.

Terrific. Now you have to show that you can read and write and follow simple instructions, otherwise what use will you be to these poor souls that need a competent leader to advise them about things that worry them? Mrs N. You say you are good at giving advice. How come then that you could not follow what the site told you about how to get the agony aunt work through this site?  You say you are suitable yet you spelt advise with a c instead of an s and your grammar falters in places. Tut.
