This is the way I see this. I've had relationships, affairs and one night stands. All of them had their good and bad points. If I decide to divorce my husband, who is quite a nice man, I will miss some of the things about him and be worse off for those things. If I end up with another guy and marry him and go through all of this setting up home, paying for a house, getting used to each other, trusting each other, it takes time and all of it is a waste of time and money if you are going to once again get a divorce.  Ok some rich famous people get married and divorced a lot, like Elizabeth Taylor, but they can afford the expense and they get publicity out of it, a bonus. For ordinary mortals like us we can end up bankrupt or in the very least in debt or maybe having to move into a much smaller apartment and go without things, simply because we swap from one person to another. Both of them having their bad points.

From what you have written I can't see why you would be considering divorcing your husband if you did it doesn't follow that you would find someone else that you wanted to be with and yes there would always be a cost and you could end up divorcing again all rather pointless

Each to their own. I know loads of buddies who would be sad if not married and would marry almost anyone rather than be single.  And others are real picky and would only marry the right guy, rejecting lots of other guys, and be single otherwise.  And just as many who want to stay single and play the field or live alone. One of my best friends is seeing a guy - most days - they won;t get married or move in together yet they are happier and more committed and suited to each other than many couples who are married and live together, with children, the whole works, yet hiding sadness or trapped.
