Hello, what a lovely and pretty forum!  I've been working as a counsellor for a long time, it's good to help others and I love to help those with mental health problems, though it can be exhausting. I am going to sign up on your directory so I can work online and get clients from here just as soon as I get back from my holiday and my children are back at school. I will post again with an update then so that I can get the ball rolling with people who want my help. My prices are very reasonable. I wish we did not live in an age where we need money to live on. Sadly I have to pay for food, rent etc same as you all do.

Hello, perhaps you could please tell me an indication of what sort of counselling you will be doing and the hours you will be working, just an idea mind, and perhaps how much sort of you would charge, just some info to be getting on with?

Hello, I am new here. I tried counselling for mental health stuff years ago and it did not work for me. Perhaps I need to try again, maybe with someone else.  In my case they kept delving into my past and parents asking the same stuff over and over and would not accept that my childhood had been very happy with no problems or drama or  neglect.  The person I spoke to was fixated on this idea and determined to blame this. This wasted a lot of time and was unfair to my nice parents.  It turned out that I had a hormone imbalance and it had nothing to do with my past, if only they had listened to me the many times I told them that. A quick blood test to check hormones would have told them that two years earlier. Two years of my life was wasted being shitty and unable to work etc. Because of their fixations.

I tried counselling it did not help me at all. I found the (three of them) people would just suggest stuff to me that I had already thought of or which I had already worked out was a waste of time. For example, I was talking to one about my father and all of the abuse he had pushed onto me for years. She said I need to think long and hard about whether I go to his funeral,  I had thought long and hard about it for SIX YEARS before I decided that I would definitely not go to it. And I was sick and tired of people bringing it up and suggesting that I had not given it enough thought and might regret not going one day.  My father died 18 years ago and I have never regretted not going.  I find that most people under estimate you, and a counsellor just does the same thing, as if you are pushing against them too, instead of them pulling with you.  Instead of this idea of regretting NOT going to the funeral it should have occurred to people I would regret it if I went.

Yes I had same sort of thing. They would say have you thought of divorce? Have you thought of getting together with her and thrashing it out and discussing it and agreeing on what to do next? When only a total idiot would not have thought of all of those things and made decisions about them already. It did not help, it wasted a lot of time and money and led to loads of dead ends. I wanted support and help but not someone making simple decisions for me or suggesting very simple ideas to me, as if I were a silly child. We went our separate ways and then I went to an online clairvoyant. A psychic lady called Rosemary Price, a web clairvoyant I think, well it said that on her site. Made it clear to me that even if we chatted over and over we would never be happy together and am very glad I listened to her as could have wasted a lot of time chasing after this pointless reunion. Eventually I met someone else and am far happier, looking back am glad it went wrong and ended, but would never have thought of thinking that at the time. A psychic can help a lot. Rosemary Price was a good one but I did try two others before her that were not so good, let me down, did not understand or get anything right.  Only go to counsellor if you are the sort of person who cannot think.

Beware of rubbish counsellors. Do not make the mistake of thinking that if someone is qualified, if they have done a course and have a piece of paper, they know their stuff. I've spoken to people who say they are qualified when they are not,  others who  are only qualified because they paid for a piece of paper after doing half an hour of a so called course where everyone is guaranteed to pass, and others who have done a course properly but have no common sense, or empathy or understanding, the text  books alone do not get them far.
