Could not believe this. A woman of about eighty, very plain, gets chatting to a guy online who tells her he is about thirty, shows a photo of a great looking guy, says he is a fantastic business man with a lot of money, travels all over the World, terrific life and single.  He makes sure they chat regular and tells her is getting fond of her. Then says he needs money urgently for this problem, can she help?  Yes she says.  Once we have sorted out this problem he says we can be together, I can finish this business deal and get all this money and come to you with it and we can share it. Yes she says. Then guess what, there is another "problem" and he needs more money. Can you help he says, if you cannot help I cannot finish this business deal and come to you to be with you. Yes she says. Think you can guess the rest!

There is one born every minute I fear and I've seen stuff about this too.  It's always the same. The poor or ugly or older one gets it into the head that the young good looking or "rich one"  - they are not really rich they just pretend to be - they are not young and gorgeous either - they pretend to be - cannot live without them and are happy to invest what is - in comparison - a tiny amount of money to get them, then it is all tears and poor little me when it goes wrong.

The same goes for business scams where a stranger supposedly offers you the chance to buy an enormous vineyard for the price of nothing and then it's oh dear poor little me when they find out it is only worth what they paid for it - wow what a surprise. If they stopped and thought about it they would work this out. No stranger is going to be searching for someone to sell a huge bargain too, they could easily sell a bargain to someone they already know!! And it would be damn stupid of them to sell it that cheap anyway.

You cannot scam someone who is honest and just. Every time I hear someone moan about being scammed they were always away with the fairies about what they expected. Some idiot says he will buy a huge vineyard in France for $500. He really believes that some guy would be ringing all over asking loads of strangers if - for a mere $500 - they will buy this fantastic and lucrative vineyard!  More fool him and his greed. The time the guy spends ringing around is worth $500 just for his time. And if he had a vineyard worth a lot he would sell it for a much higher price.   If someone has a bargain they would go to people they know first not buy a list of possible buyers and waste money on that. Their family and friends would be the lucky buyers if it was a real good deal.

When it's a romance scam it's same. You see these programmes where some very old man who is ugly, fat and bald, he say wow. I was going to get this hot chick from Russia to come over. I marry her and we live together great.  He expect this young and hot chick to give up her family/ friends/ job and everything she know and love and sure of to be with a man three times her age.  To sweeten the pot she pretends she has just inherited a lot of money and will bring it with her. Sounds terrific eh. Then before she come over she have problems and need to borrow. The guy lends and lends and says it is to help her. Rubbish. The only reason he give out this money to her is because he desperately wants a very young sexy woman and her inheritance and this a very cheap way to get it.

Who is he really talking to? Probably some very young punky Nigerian guy pretending to be Russian young woman.  The money he lends he never gets back, what does he expect? Why would he have taken advantage of such a gorgeous young Russian woman? Only a dirty old man would be looking for a woman a third of his age. And a selfish man would expect her to emigrate just to please him.
