I work from home so I'd change part of what you say into working rather than going to work. I much prefer working from home for loads of different reasons. It saves me money on travelling, it saves me hassle on worrying about transport, weather etc, it saves me a lot of time. It means I can start a bit later or earlier to suit me without worrying about others. It means I can do housework in between working, such as putting on the washing or evening meal and cooking and baking while carrying on. Being there to collect a parcel because for those things you can be in two places at once.  Yes it has it's negatives but everything does.
